LEGOLAND Malaysia ☀☁ (part 4)

Imagination
Bapak is number 1!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------❀

The first attraction that we see when we enter is "Kids Power Tower". At first, we were all pretty amazed and in awe, but after realising that to "ride" this tower, you would actually need to pull yourselves up...using your own effort. If I had enough energy then, I wouldn't have minded at all, but it was humid, sunny, and all I wanted to do was to sit down and take more photos of the place, really.

So, Bapak, who was still as enthusiastic as ever, and Dalilah, who was totally up for the challenge, joined to queue for the ride. Meanwhile, Mama and I sat down while Kak Shidah became the "look-out" to inform us when the other two will finally get their turn on the ride (so that I will get up and take photos, lah).

Bapak and Dalilah are obviously number 1!

Bapak and Dalilah had already devised a plan once they were seated on the ride. However, after their first go, Bapak ended up doing all the work (not that he minded) while Dalilah sat and enjoyed the view. Once they got off, Bapak told us that he "was too fast for Dalilah" and that "he was the champion for the high rope in NS" (which is just one of them, he adds).

*sighs*

Anyway, we continue our journey to the Observation Tower, which had a whopping 30 minutes wait in line...and guess how long the "observation" we get in this tower? Hardly 5 minutes.

However, it was fascinating to be up there. Masha Allah, the view! It was short-lived though. I guess they couldn't keep visitors up there for too long so that other visitors won't have to wait too long.

Since it was lunch time, we decided to make our way to "Pizza Mania" for lunch. On our way, we got to admire more amazing lego sculptures!

Look at that detailing on that rainbow! I am thoroughly impressed!

And what would lunch be without taking several photos first?

#instafood #ohwait #thisisntinstagram

I wanted a tomato-based spaghetti so I ordered the bolognaise...little did I know the turkey ham carbonara was amazing! Alhamdulillah, Dalilah ordered it. It was so delicious, mashaAllah! I highly recommend anybody going to Legoland Malaysia to try this!

We prayed Zuhr (there are Suraus, designated prayer rooms, everywhere!) after lunch and continued on to the next themed area of attraction...Land of Adventure!

Stay inspired,
Nurul xx

ps: seriously though, try that turkey ham carbonara spaghetti.

LEGOLAND Malaysia ☀☁ (part 3.5)

Lego Kingdom
Catapult fun!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------❀

Bapak spotted a silhouette of a man who had supposedly been catapulted through a wooden gate. He was so tickled by it, he took photos of us with the same "pose" as the silhouette. I, on the other hand, saw it as a photo-opportunity for a rather hilarious comic:

Sorry Kak Shidah, but it is the law.
(I had just as much fun editing this comic as I did taking these photographs!)

After the whole catapult fiasco, we continued our medieval quest to one of Mama's favourite childhood-nostalgia-inducing rides.

Also, I spotted a game booth, with loads of huge angry bird plushies as prizes! Obviously, Bapak had to have his picture taken with his homies.

Since it was already noon, it became more humid (but not as humid as Singapore), and the parents bought drinks (an ice lemon tea, sprite and a coke float- ooh) to cool us off. As we sipped our drinks, we made our way to "Imagination" (which will be continued in part 4!).

Fare thee well, my Goodmen!

Lego Kingdom
AWW YISS, MEDIEVAL THEMED ATTRACTIONS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------❀

We continued on to one of my favourite areas of the park- LEGO KINGDOM! Aww yiss! I absolutely, positively love medieval themed attractions. And medieval music was playing at that area. Aye, ye good ole' music.

Methinks it is most beauteous!

I was so excited to admire this area of the theme park! Dalilah was equally excited too. We literally ran into the first attraction, coined the "Dragon's Apprentice". At first, we thought it was the dragon roller coaster ride which "went into the castle where you can see a lego dragon whilst on the roller coaster" as seen on the advertisement, but it wasn't. It was a really mild roller coaster for the younger ones, but fun- nonetheless. Whenever we're on roller coasters, my sisters and I plan our "poses" for when we pass the camera. We usually opt for the "we're-so-cool-just-look-at-our-cool-faces-showing-no-sign-of-excitement-or-fear" look when the roller coaster passes the camera (and of course, one of us would usually warn the others when we were about to approach the camera; usually me).

However, its Dalilah who usually maintains the best  "we're-so-cool-just-look-at-our-cool-faces-showing-no-sign-of-excitement-or-fear" look, Kak Shidah will look directly into the camera and be ever so glamorous even at 50 km/h. While I usually break into a "ohmigosh-I-am-having-way-too-much-fun-oops-I'm-smiling" face at the very last minute.

We don't purchase the photos, we just look at them and have a good laugh at our faces!

As we my sisters and I walked towards the next roller coaster, while my parents sat under the shade, we passed by a pack of wolves!

The detailing on every single live-sized sculpture/model was beyond amazing. The colours and form of these lego models are extremely realistic. It must have taken a lot of planning and effort to pull off something as astounding as this. I hope the lego sculptors (is that what they're called?) know that their work is appreciated by hundreds on a day-to-day basis! (:

We step into a "castle" where "The Dragon" ride was located. And ohmigoodness the interior of the castle was amazing. Even if there was a 30 minute wait (it was a 5 minute wait, then), I wouldn't have minded because there were so many things to admire! Portraits of royalty and noblemen made out of lego, a humongous book made out of lego, the castle wizard and knights all made out of lego! Pity I didn't bring my camera with me!

 As we arrived at the roller-coaster platform within the castle, I see my year-mate, Shee Yin and her brother! The cool thing is, she is related to Kak Shidah's friend from NUS High School of Math & Science. So Kak Shidah kind of knew who she was.

"The Dragon" ride is amazing. You will first go through the castle where you can admire more life-sized lego sculptures/models of people from the medieval times. Most of the lego models were animatronic, which made it even cooler. The last lego model you will see is this incredible dragon, but the awe won't last long because in about 2 seconds you are out of the castle and flying about at rapid speeds (I say flying, because technically, you are riding a "fire-breathing dragon" carriage).

Just when we thought we had seen enough dragons...we step outside the castle, giddy and happy from the ride and see –

A DRAGON MASCOT.

That red claw polish looks darling on you, dragon! (;
Oh, I was unaware that my sisters had planned a "scowl-roar-fierce-dragon-impersonation" face. Oops.

The rest of our medieval quest for fun and quirky photos will be continued in part 3.5! Watch this space. (;

LEGOLAND Malaysia ☀☁ (part 2)

Lego Technic
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------❀

We continued left towards "Lego Technic", the first of the seven themed areas of attractions. Just by looking at the rides, I could tell that they weren't that intense because, this theme park is meant for families which means the rides can't be too intense for the little ones. The first ride we took was this mild-looking roller coaster, called "Project X". The estimated waiting time was 30 minutes! Although the ride was more relaxing than exhilarating (you know its a "mild" roller coaster if you found it relaxing), the 30 minute wait was bearable because my family members were there to chat and let the time pass by quicker.

LOOK AT THAT COW PLUSHIE OHMIGOSH THAT IS SO ADORABLE I WANT ONE BUT I HAVE NO MORE SPACE FOR ANYMORE STUFFED TOYS.
Kak Shidah even spotted a group of Malaysians that were using sign language. She was so fascinated because she knows sign language herself, as she is in NTU RSPHI. However, they weren't using the US sign language that she is familiar with so, the whole time, she was trying to interpret/understand them. (And we saw them again later at other attractions!)

Anyway, once we had gotten off the ride, laughed at our roller coaster photos and continued walking, we decided to move on to the next part of Legoland since the other rides at Lego Technic were a bit too kiddish for us.

On our way to the next area...we bumped into some adorable robots who were apparently preparing a meal of sorts, and the legendary genius himself, Einstein.

Look at those diligent robots. I'm sure whatever they're cooking, it'll turn out delicious (but that yellow bot probably has to wash its bowl seeing as Kak Shidah "sat" on it)! And check out Einstein's profile. MashaAllah, that is truly incredible.

Stay tuned for part 3, where we visit Lego Kingdom (yay, I love medieval-themed attractions!) and I bump into one of my SOTA year mates! (;

LEGOLAND Malaysia ☀☁ (part 1.5)

More photo-taking sessions
With the hijabi, muslim kid and painter. Oh, and the flowers and trees!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------❀

We started walking towards our left, and I spot a life-size lego sculpture/model of a hijabi holding a muslim kid's hand (we assumed that it was a mother and son- but it could have been a sister and a younger brother or an aunt and her nephew, you get what I mean). She even had a lego brooch! Impressive!

You can tell in the photos that Kak Shidah didn't really want to have her photo taken, but the last photo was an exception (;

Just when we thought our "photo-taking sessions with the live-scale lego sculptures/models" was over, I spot-

a Lego painter.

I mean, seriously- just look at her palette; do you see any blends? Ms Ye would be disappointed; "Never use paint straight out from the tube," she would always remind us during painting classes back in Goodman campus.

Also, I was fascinated (Nurul, when are you not fascinated at anything?) at the beautiful flowers and plants they had planted around in the park. And yes, real flowers not lego ones.

Look at how beautiful they are, mashaAllah! (:
Well, that's it for part 1.5! Stay tuned for part 2 (;

LEGOLAND Malaysia ☀☁ (part 1)

Arrival and photo-taking
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------❀

We left the house at around 7 am, although we had planned to leave an hour earlier so that we wouldn't get caught in the causeway traffic. However, traffic wasn't that bad, and the journey to Johor Bahru was pretty smooth, Alhamdulillah. We stopped at a Indian eatery to get breakfast. I ordered egg prata and Horlicks. I had no idea they were going to serve it with ice, but it was so good. (Too bad I didn't take a picture of our breakfast orders! They were all so delicious!)

We hopped back into the car and continued on our way to Legoland. Bapak was using his GPS app on his smartphone, which was pretty interesting for me as it was the first time I've seen him use it in person. My sisters and I dozed off, and I woke up when Mama announced, "We're here!"

I found Legoland exciting even before we had stepped inside! Just look at that magnificent entrance!
Bapak, Mama and I wore square-related designs (because LEGOLAND, that's why- clearly, we were already "playing our part" just in how we were dressed for the occasion!). Dalilah and Kak Shidah were dressed in floral (not square-ish, but at least their outfits go together like a good pair of lego bricks)

I found the design of the theme absolutely amazing. Kudos to the designers, engineers, planners and architects of this beautiful theme park! This theme park doesn't only attract little kids okay, I'm very fascinated with it too. (:

We finally went in after being held at the entry gates for a while (apparently, Mama had printed the tickets too small- she wanted to save ink - such that they couldn't be scanned). I knew I was going to enjoy myself there, although my peers who have already went told me it was "boring" (well, I am that kind of girl who finds joy in everything, or most things, rather).

Not long after we started walking, guess who we see? A RED LEGO BRICK MASCOT.

Ohmigoodness- how adorable is he (or she, depending on who is inside)?! The Legoland photographers are amazing!
Whoever was in this mascot was really playful! He/she certainly knows how to entertain/engage the visitors. For the first picture taken, this little (or big, if you will) guy posed with Dalilah and I and positioned "bunny ears" with those cute gloved hands on top of our heads! At first, we only wanted a photo with just Dalilah and I, but the photography crew coaxed our entire family to join in on the fun. This was definitely a great way to start our adventure in Legoland. (:

As we walked away from the red lego brick mascot, Mama spotted a life-size lego sculpture/model of a sleeping old man alone on a bench nearby:

"Ahh, look at that old man sleeping by himself on the bench! So kesian, we should take a photo with him so he won't look so lonely."

"Kesian" means pitiful, for those of you who don't understand Malay.

We ♥ Legoland! And this old man (":

More will be continued in part 1.5 (;
